About MGP

I am Melissa and I thank you for stopping by!  I married my high school sweetheart right out of college.  Actually, he was "right out of college" and I was nearly student teaching.  He graduated, we bought a house (without him even seeing it until right before closing!), we started a business from scratch and we got married all within two months.  I went to school during the day and waited tables at night.  We still don't know how we made it work, but here we are!  We have three girls, one doggie (the best doggie in the world thank you very much) and one cat on the way.

I love...the giving nature of my oldest girl, the amazing laugh of the middle child, and the tenderness of the toddler...the way my husband never gives up nor gives in.  He is a man's man, a wonderful father and keeps me giggling, no doubt.  I love...ham and cheese omelettes, Dr. Pepper, my mom's pound cake, and Cadbury Creme Eggs.  I take my waffles with peanut butter and syrup and don't take coffee at all.  I love sleeping...although I miss it and it misses me, I'm certain.  I love the way I feel after a long run.  And by "a long run" I mean 4 miles and by "run" I probably mean trot...but whatever.  The best time of my life was spending two weeks in Ireland and London with my husband.  Well...and the birth of each of our children, but you get what I'm saying.  If I'd delivered them in Ireland?  That would have been gravy.  I have a bit of a sarcastic nature and a dry sense of humor.  Most of the time....but you've probably already sensed that.

With my personality?  I'm not the type of person that wants to head on over to the photographer's studio, sit in a straight back chair and not move for family photos.  It's just not....me.  Therefore, I've developed a style that is creative, fun, and photojournalistic.  It's family time.  It's real.  That means that I'd rather not have you  in a studio sitting stiffish and saying "cheese" over and over.  In fact, I don't even have a studio.  Don't get me wrong, however, I will probably ask you and your family to look at me and smile a time or two, but I'd rather capture you and your loved ones in family moments.  Real smiles.  Real giggles.  Real life.  I'm sure you'll want to remember your little boy blowing bubbles and holding your hand rather than sitting in a wicker chair wearing a tie.  A tie that you more than likely had to hear him cry over in the back seat of the car all the way to the studio. Fun times, eh?   Photo sessions with MG Photography are relaxed.  You won't feel pressured to perform for the camera.  Just be yourself!

So.  If all of that sounds just delightful to you?  Just click that little "Contact" button at the top of this page and let's meet up!

Trust me.

It will be fun.

Pinky promise.
